This EMDRIA approved EMDR Advanced Workshop is a two-day course providing tools for EMDR therapists working with issues around Grief and Loss. Lectures will include recognizing signs and symptoms of normal grief vs. complex grief, traumatic grief, stages of grief, and looking at case conceptualization. Special attention will be paid to issues of attachment and other unresolved historical experiences that can complicate the healing process. Experiential interventions will be explored in order to support resourcing and processing of both normal and complex grief. Participants will walk away with practical tools that they can immediately apply to EMDR Therapy practice.

Learning Objectives
- Recognize my own cultural biases with grief and loss.
- Identify the differences between normal grief and complicated grief.
- Recognize at least 2 emotional signs or symptoms for normal grieving process.
- Identify at least 2 factors that prolong or complicate the grieving process.
- Apply a grief and loss timeline for Case Conceptualization for EMDR Therapy.
- Determine when the recent event protocol is relevant to a recent single loss.
- Describe how to set up a target around a stuck belief for grief and loss.
- Recount how Attachment wounds can impact the grieving process.
- Explain the importance of RDI’s before processing grief.
- Demonstrate at least 2 RDI’s in support of processing grief.
- Describe how transitions can have a grief process and be potential targets for EMDR Therapy.
- Recall at least 2 interweaves for stuck processing during Desensitization Phase in EMDR Therapy.
