Barb Maiberger, MA, LPC is the founder of the Maiberger Institute, and the author of “EMDR Essentials: A Guide for Clients and Therapists” and the co-author of “EMDR Therapy and Somatic Psychology: Interventions to Enhance Embodiment in Trauma Treatment.” Barb Maiberger is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and an EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist. Barb Maiberger is the CE Program Administrator for the Maiberger Institute. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Colorado and has a Masters degree in Somatic Psychology. Barb’s knowledge, experience, keen sense of empathy, and a strong presence have motivated hundreds therapists to incorporate EMDR Therapy into their practices.

Katie Asmus, MA, LPC, BMP is a Body-Centered Psychotherapist and Educator. Katie Asmus is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and an EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist. With over 25 years experience working in the wilderness, and 18 years as a clinician working with a variety of populations, Katie has spent a great deal of her career bridging the two in the field of Wilderness Therapy. After realizing the prevalence of trauma in our society, Katie focused her graduate studies and thesis work on body-centered modalities for working with trauma in the wilderness, bringing this work to the fields of Adventure Education and Wilderness Therapy. She has presented nationally for over 15 years on these topics, and has published a variety of writings including a journal article, book chapter, and several guest blogs. Katie has been faculty in the MA Somatic and Wilderness Therapy programs at Naropa University and Prescott College for over a decade.  She is passionate about supporting people to learn, grow and be their most radiant selves in the world!

With his ten years of experience as a University Instructor of Sociology and Psychology, he brings a unique perspective to his work. His experience in how we develop a sense of self and maintain this sense of self through various methods of interaction forms the essence of his therapeutic approach.
