Results From 2010 EMDRIA Survey

In 2010, EMDRIA put out a new study to see if EMDRIA was meeting the expectations of its members. The results from that study were recently release, and EMDRIA was pleased with the results.  Overall, the feedback from EMDRIA’s membership was quite positive, with a majority of respondents reporting very high satisfaction with how EMDRIA is meeting its goals.

The survey showed that members felt there were important issues that EMDRIA needs to continue to address:

  • Members felt that it was very important once a therapist completed the EMDR Basic Training that therapists can successfully integrate it into their practice. This impacts the quality of the EMDR Basic Training to help therapists feel ready for this transition.
  • EMDR therapists also felt that research continues to be very important in keeping EMDR in the forefront of efficacy of best treatment practices for therapists, and that EMDR therapists be respected in the mental health community.
  • Therapists feel that they are offered enough workshops to continue growing with their EMDR knowledge.
  • There were some therapists that felt they didn’t have enough access to innovative programs or resources to help them with their EMDR skills and that EMDR is not inclusive enough in allowing innovation to lead the way.

In keeping with EMDRIA’s mission, the Maiberger Institute offers high quality EMDR Basic Training, and helps prepare therapists to successfully integrate EMDR skills into their practices. By offering ongoing EMDR Consultation and Advanced EMDR Workshops, the Maiberger Institute is devoted to helping therapists integrate EMDR into their practices but also find creative ways to improve their skills along the way with the right kind of support.
