EMDR Therapy Tools for Complex PTSD

This EMDR Advanced Training is a 2-day course providing tools for EMDR therapists working with Complex PTSD to build their own EMDR Therapy toolkit. The course will emphasize the importance of resourcing and stabilization of clients who are experiencing complex PTSD symptoms. The lectures and experiential exercises will explore: visual, kinesthetic and auditory interventions with the emphasis on body centered awareness, as well as, affect modulation through pendulation to create safety for the client.

Learning Objectives:

• Be able to describe the signs and symptoms of dissociation
• Assess when it’s appropriate to prepare clients more for the EMDR Therapy trauma protocol
• Demonstrate resourcing skills for complex PTSD using one or more of the following processing styles: visual, auditory and or kinesthetic.
• Able to demonstrate a pendulation intervention for resourcing Complex PTSD clients to help build affect regulation skills.
