According to study called the Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE), research is starting to show early childhood trauma such as neglect or abuse can be linked to illnesses and early mortality in adulthood. The ACE study was conducted by the Kaiser Permanente HMO and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
